Predicted Leeds Rhinos XVII to face Castleford Tigers after boss provides Mikolaj Oledzki and Jack Bird updates

Leeds Rhinos

Leeds Rhinos will be looking to continue their incredible attacking form this weekend as they prepare to face Castleford Tigers tomorrow.

The Rhinos came back from their emphatic win in Las Vegas over Hull KR full of confidence, but boss Brad Arthur knows the win in the Sin City means nothing if they can’t continue to back up their efforts on home turf.

The boss provided some team news earlier this week, providing fitness updates on the likes of Mikolaj Oledzki and Jack Bird, with their 21-man squad also revealing an injury blow to a star man.

With that in mind, we have decided to predict how Leeds will line up at Headingley against the Tigers tomorrow [Sunday], as they look to extend their winning run to four games in a row.

Predicted Leeds Rhinos line-up to face Castleford Tigers

Brodie Croft will miss the tie through injury. The half-back suffered a hamstring strain in Vegas, but was able to play through the pain. He is also a doubt for next week’s Challenge Cup tie against Wakefield Trinity, too.

Leeds have two options to replace him, with those being either youngster George Brown or the versatile Chris Hankinson.

Brown made his Super League debut in round one against Leigh, and has heaps of potential, whereas Hankinson has more top flight experience, just not in the playmaking role.

NRL signing Jack Bird could have been another option, however Arthur confirmed earlier this week that the ex-Wests Tigers man will not feature, due to him not being as match fit as the club would have liked.

Mikolaj Oledzki could come into contention this week, with the boss praising the Gdansk-born prop’s determination to recover earlier than expected.

However, it would be a risk to bring the forward back too early, especially at this early stage of the season. Cooper Jenkins has more than earned his starting jersey after some exceptional performances to start the year.

Arthur stated post-match that he wants to give Kallum Watkins as much rest as he can in order to keep the club legend at his best, and that could mean that Watkins falls out of the 17 and Ethan O’Neill gets a chance to start.

Leeds Rhinos predicted side: Lachie Miller, Maika Sivo, Harry Newman, Ash Handley, Ryan Hall, George Brown, Jake Connor, Cooper Jenkins, Danny Levi, Keenan Palasia, Ethan O’Neill, James McDonnell, Cameron Smith.

Bench: Chris Hankinson, Jarrod O’Connor, Tom Holroyd, Jeremiah Mata’utia
