Two players have made appeals to the Rugby Football League over unpaid wages despite their club signing new players for 2026.
North Wales Crusaders, who won League One in 2025 and will now form part of an expanded Championship in 2026, have announced two new signings this past week.
The Welsh outfit confirmed the additions of Ashton Robinson and Pat Moran on Wednesday 5th November, however, two current players have taken to social media to claim that wages still have not been paid for October.
Sadly, this isn’t the first example of this lately in rugby league with a Featherstone Rovers player taking to social media to appeal for wages, something that saw Rovers’ head coach Paul Cooke speak out in support of his players.
Along with the crisis that has gone on at Salford Red Devils all season, it’s another sad story in rugby league with two of North Wales’ League One-winning side now appealing to the Rugby Football League (RFL).

Two more rugby league players speak out over alleged unpaid wages
Jake Spedding and Jamie Dallimore have both taken to X, formerly Twitter, to call out their club and owner over the alleged unpaid wages, whilst also calling out the RFL for a lack of support in the matter.
Both men shared the exact same message on X with Spedding’s post preceding Dallimore’s by nine minutes as they aired grievances on Friday evening.
They posted: “Still some lads (with) no wages received for October @NWCrusadersRL despite the promises from the owners and new players being signed. What’s the excuses @arun_watkins17 now?
“Excuses about bonuses and staff still due. @TheRFL when will you start to support the players and stop ignoring it?”
Arun Watkins is the owner of North Wales Crusaders but the X account that both Spedding and Dallimore have linked does not exist.
Dallimore also responded to a report from All Out Rugby League’s Matt Shaw from five days prior that North Wales’ players had been unpaid.
The 37-year-old said: “Enough is enough. My mates are sitting there watching it unfold. Literally feels like ur (sic) begging for what ur (sic) owed. What’s the point in the contract?
“This needs to stop. Fans, players, families, don’t deserve this. All year, staff and players stayed professional and got the job done for what?”
