Paul Rowley has made a host of changes to his St Helens side with three debuts confirmed, including two for academy products, in today’s game against Toulouse Olympique.
Saints are looking to bounce back after that bruising and costly defeat at Magic Weekend to Wigan Warriors, whereas visitors Toulouse recorded their best win of the year as they hammered French rivals Catalans.
As well as missing out on two points in that clash with Wigan, St Helens also lost Daryl Clark, David Klemmer, Alex Walmsley and George Delaney with an injury update issued late on Wednesday.
Such injuries forced the club to look to the loan market with Hull FC’s Jed Cartwright added and he makes his St Helens debut today in what is understandably a much-changed squad.
Just six players with squad numbers inside the top 21 were named to Paul Rowley’s 21-man squad earlier this week and he’s now selected his matchday 17 from that group.

Saints enter the game with an entirely changed front row as Jacob Host and Daniel Suluka-Fifita play at prop with Jake Burns the hooker.
Jed Cartwright takes the start in the second-row alongside young talent Jake Davies as Shane Wright drops out despite being named in the 21-man squad.
As well as Cartwright, other debuts could go to academy products Matty Evans and Chris Matagi, both of whom are named on the bench along with Curtis Sironen and fellow academy product Tom Humphreys.

Sylvain Houles makes just two changes with one in the pack and one in the backs. Centre Romeo Tropis replaces recent recruit Ethan Quai-Ward in the back line.
Rob Butler starts over Lambert Belmas, who drops out entirely, with new signing Louis Grossemy named on the bench.
Ellis Gillam is named as 18th man for the Olympians.
