Catalans Dragons and Wigan Warriors will make history as they take their Super League fixture on the road in 2026.
The two sides will travel to Paris, and will play at the Stade Jean-Bouin, home of French football side, Paris FC.
That game will take place on June 6 2026, and will mark the 20th anniversary of the Dragons being in Super League, as well as the 30th anniversary of Super League, with the 1996 season including Paris Saint-Germain as one of the initial 12 teams.
Having already faced each other at the Camp Nou, home of FC Barcelona, in 2019, the pair will once again set the trend of taking a regular season fixture on the road, with Leeds Rhinos and Hull KR’s clash in Las Vegas another set for a neutral venue next year.
In what will be an addition to the weekend’s schedule, that game will now form part of a double-header, with the French Rugby League Federation confirming this week that the Super XIII Grand Final will take place on the same day.
The Super XIII is made up of French’s top clubs, with historic teams such as Albi, Lezignan and Pia all in the competition.
With their division being based on a winter schedule, it means that their season’s culmination will be in the summer, as the likes of Konrad Hurrell, Theo Fages and plenty more ex-Super League talent looking to add another trophy to their CV.
As the league prepares to reach the half-way mark, Carcassonne currently sit top, with Limoux Grizzlies sitting in second.
