Fresh off the back of a win, Catalans Dragons have given their fans something else to cheer with the Super League club signing an overseas forward on a deal until the end of the season.
John Cartwright landed his first win at home on Saturday as Catalans held off a Castleford Tigers fightback and to celebrate, it seems the Dragons have recruited an imposing forward.
Edenn Rogers-Smith has been confirmed as the Super League clubs latest signing with the 26-year-old signing until the end of the season, with 13 regular season games remaining in the competition.
Rogers-Smith is a second-rower who stands at 192 cm tall and weighs over 110 kilograms so he’s sure to add some punch to the Dragons’ pack that has recently lost Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui, who was released and allowed to return home to be alongside his family as his father battled cancer.
Confirming the addition of Rogers-Smith, Catalans released a brief statement: “The club is pleased to announce the signing of Edenn Rogers-Smith who has committed to the Dragons until the end of the 2026 season.
“Aged 26, the Australian second row had been playing for Carcassonne in Super XIII for two seasons.”

The forward has previously made a total of 19 appearances in the New South Wales reserve grade, playing for North Sydney Bears, Western Suburb Magpies and the Sydney Roosters reserve side as well.
He then made the switch over to France to play with Carcassonne but with the Super XIII season now over, Rogers-Smith has signed with Catalans in a bid to prove himself in Super League.
On the switch, he said: “I am very happy to be joining a club like the Catalans Dragons. It’s a superb opportunity to be part of such a respected club, with a rich history and supported by passionate fans.”
