Hull FC back-rower Zach Jebson has joined up with League One side Goole Vikings for the remainder of the season. Jebson has made the switch on loan and he’ll be looking to make an instant impact under the guidance of Scott Taylor.
Jebson is in the final year of his contract at the MKM Stadium and he’ll make the move to Goole with a determination to impress enough to secure his future in the game for next season and beyond.
The forward hasn’t made a first-team appearance this season, with his only outings coming in the reserves and the game time he looks set to receive in League One could well prove to be pivotal.
The 20-year-old has made 10 appearances for the Black and Whites, with nine of those coming last season. He managed to get over the line for his first senior try last year, too, touching down in a loss to Salford Red Devils in the closing weeks of the season.
Hull do have the option to recall him after two weeks, but if the season-long loan deal goes as planned, there’s a chance he could have played his last game for FC.
Hull FC man Zach Jebson joins Goole Vikings
Jebson joins a Goole side that is stacked with faces that will be familiar to him, with the likes of Manoa Wacokecoke, Mackenzie Harman, Callum Rutland and Kye Armstrong all representing the Vikings, too. The Vikings provided a huge shock earlier in the season when they knocked London Broncos out of the Challenge Cup.
Progress has been a little slower since, though, and their win over Newcastle Thunder on Sunday was just their second league win of the season. As such, they currently sit eighth in the League One table, four points adrift of the cut off point for the Super 8s.
Jebson will be looking to make his debut for the club this weekend when the Vikings travel to face Rochdale Hornets at Spotland.
