Major World Club Challenge ticket update as Hull KR confirm record sell-out

Hull KR

Hull KR have confirmed that tickets for the World Club Challenge have sold out, and in record time too.

Following their successful 2025 season that saw them clinch all three trophies on offer, their victory at Old Trafford in the Grand Final has earned them the right to face off against the NRL champions.

Taking on Brisbane Broncos in February, it will be the first time in two years that the fixture will be played, after a year of absence due to Wigan Warriors and Penrith Panthers’ commitments to Las Vegas.

The game will be played at Hull FC’s MKM Stadium, which in itself has caused controversy between fans of the two clubs.

Tickets for the event only started being released on November 7, and were done so in stages. Hospitality tickets were first put on sale, before a pre-sale for Rovers season ticket holders came shortly after and so forth.

Tickets were that in demand, general sale, which was due to go live tomorrow (November 17), was not an option, with fans snapping up the full allocation in just 10 days of sales.

The MKM Stadium has a maximum capacity of 24,600, and with all tickets now being purchased, it is expected that the attendance record for a club rugby league match to be played there will be broken.

In what is an extremely busy month for the Rovers, just a week on from this game, they will be representing Super League in Las Vegas, where they will meet Leeds Rhinos as part of the NRL-hosted event.

“Truly phenomenal” – Hull KR CEO Paul Lakin and RFL Supremo Nigel Wood react to World Club Challenge sell-out

Reacting to the news that the game would be played in front of a full house, Robins CEO Paul Lakin said: “We are delighted to achieve a sell-out of the MKM Stadium in record time, our 31st consecutive sell-out, with all league and playoff games selling out since late 2023. A truly phenomenal achievement and testament to so much work behind the scenes, and our loyal fanbase.

“24,600 Robins, with some Broncos and neutrals included, will have the MKM Stadium bouncing on the 19th February. We can’t wait to show the world what we, and the City of Hull, are all about. It promises to be a magnificent occasion for all and we’d like to thank everyone for their support.”

Chair of Rugby League Commercial, Nigel Wood, added: “It’s a reflection of the feelgood factor at Hull KR after their historic treble-winning season of 2025, and also further evidence of the appeal of major international Rugby League events.

“The 2025 season ended with a big attendance at Old Trafford for Hull KR’s victory over Wigan Warriors in the Betfred Super League Grand Final, followed by two sellouts in the ABK Beer Rugby League Ashes series in Liverpool and Leeds.

“It’s been exciting for us at RL Commercial to see the rewards of working closely with Hull KR in promoting this match to supporters of other clubs in the Betfred Super League and Championship.

“We’ll shortly be announcing an exciting opening round of fixtures for the 2026 Betfred Super League season which will be followed by the World Club Challenge at the start of Round Two, and then Super League’s return to Las Vegas with the Battle of Yorkshire between Hull KR and Leeds Rhinos on Saturday 28th February, in addition to two matches from the NRL – a fantastic start to the Rugby League year.”
