How London Broncos look going into 2026 as latest deal sees fan favourite extend contract

London Broncos

London Broncos have extended the contract of a fan favourite ahead of the 2026 season, as they look to push for Super League status.

The Broncos were rejected access to the top flight in 2026, but with a much-improved squad, they will be wanting to finish at the top of the second tier to give them as much chance of achieving that feat as possible.

Signings such as Reagan Campbell-Gillard, Siliva Havili and Dean Hawkins make the side one of the strongest they have had in recent years, whilst retentions for current players allow for quality squad depth at the Darren Lockyer-owned side.

Now, they have announced another man will be staying put next year, with Australian half-back Connor O’Beirne signing a new deal at the club.

Having spent a couple of seasons in the French league, the 28-year-old joined London at the start of the season, and immediately made an impact, scoring on debut against Goole Vikings in the Challenge Cup. He went on to make 18 appearances this season, scoring four tries.

London Broncos recruitment for 2026 following latest retention

Since the Lockyer and Grant Weschel era began, the club have announced 13 players as part of their 2026 plans, in what is a mixture of new faces and returning players.

Head coach Jason Demetriou and newly-appointed assistant, Danny Ward, have the three NRL stars mentioned above, whilst many more recruits have also come through the door.

Neil Tchamambe joins on loan from Wakefield Trinity, whilst Sam Davis made his move form Salford Red Devils a permanent one.

Youngsters Jake Ramsden and Bobby Hartley join from Warrington Wolves and Keighley Cougars respectively, which show the club have long-term ambitions to develop players.

Papua New Guinean international duo Finley Glare and Morea Morea have signed up to the cause, working under Demetriou at club level now, as well as international.

Joining O’Beirne in extending their time in the capital are Liam Tindall, Sadiq Adebiyi, Ben Hursey-Hord and Marcus Stock.
