London Broncos secure second NRL signing as Tonga international joins

London Broncos

London Broncos have announced the signing of Tonga international Siliva Havili ahead of the 2026 season. The Broncos are making headlines with their recruitment for next season as they hope to secure a spot in Super League.

The Broncos are one of seven Championship clubs who have applied to make the jump up to Super League for next season and they are considered to be one of the favourites. They secured the services of former Australia international Reagan Campbell-Gillard earlier this week and they have now added Havili to their ranks.

Havili was strongly linked with a move to St Helens earlier in the season but a move didn’t materialise and London have now claimed the former South Sydney Rabbitohs man.

The versatile forward, who can play at hooker, loose-forward, or elsewhere across the pack, left the Rabbitohs at the end of the NRL season without the offer of a new contract. That’s despite making 23 appearances for the club this year and scoring two tries.

He spent four seasons with Souths, having represented Canberra Raiders, St George Illawarra Dragons and New Zealand Warriors earlier in his career. As such, he arrives in London with plenty of experience under his belt having made 173 outings in the NRL.

Havili has also collected 21 caps for Tonga during his career and he’ll be keen to add to that tally this autumn after being named in the country’s Pacific Championships squad.

His signing represents another huge coup for Darren Lockyer’s Broncos, who will be coached by Jason Demetriou from next season.

London Broncos’ Mike Eccles on Siliva Havili

Speaking on the signing, director of rugby Mike Eccles said: “Siliva is the type of player who makes everyone around him better.

“He’s a competitor, a leader, and he’s experienced success at international level. Adding someone of his quality to our environment is a huge statement of intent.”

London will be looking to add more players from down under in the coming weeks and months as their recruitment push continues. However, they will find out whether they will be promoted to Super League next week, with a decision set to be announced on Thursday October 16.

“Hope to secure a spot”? How stupid do they think we are? It’s guaranteed. Walk into a bookies and ask for odds, don’t be surprised if they laugh in your face! It’s a done deal. It’s not a selection process it’s a mockery!
