Hull FC prop Liam Knight is reportedly keen on making the move back to the NRL sooner rather than later.
Knight has penned a deal to stay with the Black and Whites until the end of the 2026 Super League season after impressing during his first year with the club. However, speaking after signing that deal, Knight was quite clear that the length of the deal had been designed with a potential return to Australia in mind.
The prop is in a relationship with Channel Nine’s Danika Mason and he spoke of his desire to be reunited with her at some point in the not too distant future. However, according to Wide World of Sports’ The Mole, Knight might be keen on making the return to Australia sooner than expected.
The report claims the FC man is attracting interest from a number of NRL clubs with his management looking to seal his return to the sport’s premier competition in the coming weeks.
Hull FC man linked with NRL return
Of course, the Black and Whites would be less than keen to let the prop leave, having just tied him down to a new contract. Hull have built what looks to be a fearsome pack for next season and Knight is at the heart of John Cartwright’s plans, especially with Herman Ese’ese out injured with an Achilles rupture.
The club would be well within their rights to demand a fee for the forward as well, should they even entertain the notion of letting him go, which might provide something of a stumbling block for any of those clubs taking a look.
The 30-year-old made the move to the MKM Stadium in March after failing to find a club in the NRL following his release by Canterbury Bulldogs. He went on to make 19 appearances for the Black and Whites in 2025 and he became something of a crowd favourite, jumping into the fold and playing big minutes on a number of occasions.
His season was brought to a premature end at the end of July, though, with a stress fracture in his ankle requiring surgery. As such, he has travelled back to Australia while he recovers from injury but he will be expected to report to Hull FC’s training ground once pre-season has got underway in November.
