Leigh Leopards have earned back-to-back league wins for the first time in 2025, defeating Huddersfield Giants 30-16
Two Leopards players crossed for try doubles, including Josh Charnley, who celebrated a milestone appearance in style.
AJ Towse also scored two, whilst Lachlan Lam was rewarded with a penalty try after Adam Swift caught the half-back high in the act of scoring. Innes Senior grabbed the other Leopards try of the night.
Taane Milne, Adam Swift and Jacob Gagai crossed for the Giants, in what was another disappointing performance from Liam Finn’s side.

Leigh Leopards v Huddersfield Giants Talking Points
Leigh turn a corner:
After victory over the Knights in round eight, Leigh have won their second league win on the spin for the first time this season, and with players starting to return to the side, they begin to show consistency.
The Leopards are nowhere near their perfect selves, but they didn’t have to be tonight, with the Giants providing little attacking threat.
Lachlan Lam was on top form, knocking up an assist and a penalty try, whilst Adam Cook showed signs of promise, something that has not been on show too often in the start of his Leigh career.
Where next for Huddersfield?
Huddersfield failed to learn their lesson from last week’s defeat to Leeds, with defence again being a key issue.
Conceding four tries in the opening half an hour, Liam Finn’s side failed to take any control of the game, with Tui Lolohea and Adam Clune failing to pull the strings, unlike Cook and Lam who combined well.
The West Yorkshire outfit showed glimpses of what they can do, but far too many unforced errors and lapses in concentration gave Leigh enough chances, which they would then execute.
With games coming up against Warrington, St Helens and Leeds again, it’s hard to see the Giants picking up any sort of rewards if they play as they have done over the past 160 minutes.
Mulhern concern:
After pulling out of last week’s win over York in the warm-up, Robbie Mulhern made it to kick off this week but after just seven minutes he had to leave the field.
With a history of calf injuries, the Irish and English international withdrew from last week’s game in an attempt to avoid any serious damage, but it looks as though his fate was simply delayed another week, with his calf the reason for a premature exit.
Leopards’ injury hope:
Whilst Mulhern’s calf will no doubt be a blow, one positive to take from this evening from a Leigh perspective will be that star full-back David Armstrong came through the reserves game unscatched.
The Australian featured for around an hour in the game which posed as a curtain-raiser for the Super League clash, and Armstrong could be in contention to return next week when Leigh travel to Catalans Dragons.
400 not out for Charnley:
Leigh veteran Josh Charnley marked his 400th career appearance not only with a win, but with a sensational try double as well.
Acrobatically diving over on the right edge, Charnley crossed for the 327th try in his career, 72 of which have come in leopard print and 263 have come in Super League.
The 34-year-old is now only five tries behind Leeds Rhinos legend Ryan Hall in the all-time Super League charts, a record he could well own by the time he hangs up the boots.
