Leigh Leopards have confirmed their squad ahead of Friday’s game against Salford Red Devils, however, Paul Rowley’s side is still unconfirmed.
Salford didn’t fulfill last weekend’s fixture against Wakefield Trinity as they cited player welfare with just two of their proposed squad having Super League experience over the past 12 months.
That cancellation is still being looked into by the RFL in terms of a punishment and solution but a 48-0 walkover win for Wakefield is expected with further repercussions possible and ranging from a points deduction to expulsion from Super League.
Positive strides have been made in that Salford released a statement on Monday night to confirm they would be able to name a squad to face Leigh Leopards on Friday, though it is yet to be named with Paul Rowley having just spoke to the press to admit it is somewhat imbalanced given the club are having to loan in players that rival clubs offer.
That’s not stopped Leigh from naming a strong side though they’re without some key men.

Both Joe Ofahengaue and Frankie Halton drop out of Leigh’s squad that was named to face Hull FC last week. Prop forward Ofahengaue left the field after just two minutes in a massive blow and he’s confirmed to miss this week.
Aaron Pene makes his return from injury though with Brad Dwyer the other replacement named with Dwyer having played for the reserves last week alongside Darnell McIntosh.
McIntosh is named to the squad again but faces competition for his place from Keanan Brand who has been impressive this season.

Salford didn’t share news of their squad as teams would typically do two days prior to their game, however, they have loaned in four young Super League talents including Leigh’s Jack Darbyshire and two men from Hull KR.
