Leigh Leopards launch eye-catching away kit with jungle theme

Leigh Leopards have launched their away kit for the 2026 season with the Super League outfit choosing a jungle theme for the eye-catching shirt.

Never shy of backing away from bold fashion choices, Leigh owner Derek Beaumont has overseen the shirt creation as his company, Debeau Performance, are the kit makers.

Similar to their home shirt that was unveiled at the club’s season launch earlier this month, the shirt’s pattern takes a twist on leopard print and is instead more dynamic.

Coloured in black with green over the top, a leopard face is again visible in the centre of the abdomen with the shorts more primarily black.

Winger Josh Charnley was the man to help launch the kit with the Leopards man arriving at the Leigh stadium to introduce it with ‘pyro’, a sparkler that he retrieved from his sock as the club showed some humour given their well-earned reputation for showcasing pyrotechnics before matches.

Leigh Leopards kit design explained

The Leopards will first don the away kit in round two when they travel to take on St Helens though fans could see it next Friday when they travel to take on Warrington Wolves in a pre-season clash.

As they announced the kit, Leigh Leopards shared a message from Debeau Performance’s head designer Bradley Edwards, who explained how the kit came to be.

Edwards said: “The ambition from the very start was to explore a different side of the leopard’s world. We chose to immerse the kit in a jungle habitat; dense, unpredictable, and alive with movement.

“The rainforest offered a perfect metaphor for both the team’s resilience and the challenge of playing away from home; beautiful yet hostile, layered and intense. That sense of depth was crucial, so the design was built in multiple visual layers, drawing the eye deeper into the fabric the longer you look.”

Edwards also explained that movement was ‘central to the design’ with ‘subtle leopard references’ throughout the shirt to create a kit perfect for Leigh.

He concluded: “Throughout the process, we worked closely with the club to ensure the shirt felt unmistakably Leigh, respectful of their identity, but brave enough to push it somewhere new. The result is a kit that feels both familiar and different: rooted in the Leopards’ DNA, yet bold in its storytelling and execution.”
