Leigh Leopards forward Ryan Brown has joined Championship side Barrow Raiders on loan for the remainder of the season in a move that would suggest that star forward Owen Trout is approaching full fitness.
Head coach Adrian Lam confirmed earlier in the week that Trout, who had been missing for the past few games due to personal reasons, was back in training and a possible chance to make the trip to face Toulouse Olympique.
Both Trout and Brown were named in Leigh’s 21-man squad for that game on Saturday evening but it’s now been announced that Brown will link up with Cumbrian outfit Barrow, something that may suggest Trout is now ready to go.
It’s not the first time that Brown has left the Leopards on loan, nor is it his first time at Barrow with the prop forward playing for the Raiders in 2024, 2025 and earlier this season as well.
He’d play 22 times for Paul Crarey’s side in 2025 and also featured once back in February before being recalled by the Leopards, however, he now leaves Leigh for the final few months of the season.

Barrow Raiders sign Ryan Brown on loan from Leigh Leopards
Announcing his return, Barrow said: “Barrow Raiders are excited to welcome back Leigh Leopards forward Ryan Brown on loan for the remainder of the Betfred Championship season.
Barrow Raiders director of rugby Andy Gaffney said: “Ryan’s development over recent years saw him earn his chance to represent Leigh in Super League, and we are immensely proud to have been a part of his journey to that point.
“When we heard that there was the potential to welcome him back to our group, we moved quickly and decisively to make it happen.
“Following the recent signing of Brad Singleton, Ryan is another welcome addition to our group as we look to continue mixing it near the top end of the division.”
The Raiders are flying high in the Championship, currently sitting third and set to travel to face Salford this weekend.
