A total of ten charges have been handed out after Super League round 20 with Leeds Rhinos copping four of them across three players, though there have been no bans confirmed in the latest disciplinary report.
The Rhinos came out as victors on Sunday afternoon as they beat Bradford Bulls 42-12 thanks to a Jake Connor masterclass as Leeds punished mistakes despite making plenty of their own.
It’s now been confirmed that three Rhinos have been charged by the Match Review Panel with injured forward Ben Littlewood (hamstring) picking up two separate disciplinary charges, though he avoids a ban.
Littlewood was charged for late contact on the passer and dangerous contact, landing him a Grade A and Grade B charge whilst both James McDonnell and Brodie Croft copped Grade As for dangerous contact as well.
Another charge came from that game as Bradford’s Phoenix Steinwede recieved a Grade B charge for late contact on the passer, earning him three penalty points.
Catalans’ Edenn Rogers-Smith and York’s Paul McShane were also charged with that offence but to different degrees, with Rogers-Smith only receiving a Grade A compared to McShane’s Grade B.
There are two head contact charges and they go to two men punished at the time as Josh Charnley lands a Grade B charge for his sin bin effort on Toby King, whilst Matty Storton‘s red card is punished with a Grade C.
Interestingly, both men only get three penalty points despite a Grade C charge carrying five points compared to three. That’s because players who are shown a red card automatically have points deducted from any charge as they have in effect already been punished. Two points are deducted for a first half send-off and just one for a second half send-off.
The final charge goes to Warrington’s Leon Hayes for his tip tackle that also saw him sin binned with the Wire half copping a Grade C and five penalty points.
