Leeds Rhinos star Harry Newman makes Hull FC loan switch with terms revealed

Hull FC have signed England centre Harry Newman on short-term loan from Leeds Rhinos.

The deal, initially for one week, was confirmed by Rhinos this morning (Tuesday) and the 26-year-old is set to make his FC debut in Thursday’s home game against St Helens.

He will replace Hull centre Arthur Romano who could be sidelined for up to three months after suffering an ankle injury in the Good Friday defeat at Hull KR.

Newman was ever-present for Leeds in 2025 and has made seven appearances so far this term.

However, Australian Jack Bird, who joined Rhinos from Wests Tigers in February, took over in the right-centre for the past two games, against Warrington Wolves and Bradford Bulls and scored a try in each.

Newman made his Leeds debut in 2017, but will leave at the end of this season to begin a two-year contract at new NRL outfit Perth Bears.

Rhinos coach Brad Arthur, who previously ruled out a loan move for Newman, is due to talk to the media at his weekly preview press conference later today.
