Leeds Rhinos have provided an injury update on one of their key forwards following an injury sustained in the loss to St Helens.
St Helens travelled to Headingley and beat Leeds Rhinos 6-0 on Friday night but Brad Arthur’s side also lost a key man to injury.
Prop forward Mikolaj Oledzki suffered a facial injury with the England forward seen to be bloodied before leaving the field and subsequently being confirmed to have suffered a suspected fracture.
Speaking post-match, Brad Arthur said: “They’ve taken him to hospital. It doesn’t look good, he might have a fracture to his face.
“We will have to wait and see. He is pretty beat up, he is on the gas and they’ll get him up to hospital. They’ll get him looked at and see where to go from there. It could be surgery, who knows?”
Arthur added: “He thinks he got a shoulder flush on his head, but we don’t want to be making rash statements until we’ve actually seen it. There has to be some sort of force on his head for him to have a fracture, but how it happened, I don’t know.”
Leeds Rhinos have now provided an update and it’s not good news for Oledzki.

The Headingley club released a statement confirming that Oledzki will have to undergo surgery which could rule him out for up to two months.
One issue at the moment is that surgery cannot take place due to the swelling on the forward’s face.
A club statement read: “Leeds Rhinos have confirmed that prop Mikolaj Oledzki will require surgery on the fractured cheekbone and eye socket injury he sustained in last Friday’s defeat to St Helens.
“The England prop is likely to be ruled out for six to eight weeks depending on the result of the surgery. The surgery is currently delayed due to facial swelling.”
