Leeds Rhinos have been dealt a huge blow for their 2027 squad, with another star man making the move to Perth Bears.
Mikolaj Oledzki will depart the club at the end of the season, and will link up with current teammates Harry Newman and James McDonnell at the NRL franchise, who are in the process of forming their inaugural top 30 squad.
The Gdansk-born prop has been in integral figure to the club since his debut in 2017, and has gone on to become one of Super League’s top props.
Oledzki has made 181 Leeds appearances in his career to date, and in 2022 was named in the Super League Dream Team.
He earned his first England call-up in 2021, and made one appearance at the following year’s World Cup. He featured in two matches in the recent Ashes defeat to Australia, featuring off the bench on both occasions.
Commenting on the move, Oledzki said: “It’s been an ambition of mine to test myself in the NRL and I am delighted to have the opportunity to do it with Mal Meninga and the Perth Bears.
The roster is starting to take shape and it’s exciting to think about playing in front of our fans in Perth. I’ve been told they are a loyal and passionate group.
“Most of all, I’m excited about the opportunity to bring my family over to Western Australia.”
