Leeds Rhinos legend Kylie Leuluai has found himself back in a rugby league role months after departing Warrington Wolves.
After retiring in 2015 as part of that incredible treble-winning Leeds Rhinos side that also saw Kevin Sinfield and Jamie Peacock walk off into the sunset, Leuluai has remained involved with the sport, just not at the Rhinos.
He became part of Warrington Wolves’ staff in 2017 before departing his role of Head of Rugby Operations in late 2025, a job that he has now taken on with a Championship club.
Leuluai has been confirmed as the Head of Rugby Operations at North Wales Crusaders with the 47-year-old starting the job with immediate effect, as confirmed by the club.
The former Samoan international made over 60 appearances in the NRL but it was his time in England that he’s best remembered for with Leuluai joining Leeds Rhinos in 2007 and going on to win six Grand Finals, with his final game being the 2015 Grand Final.

Kylie Leuluai joins Championship club in off-field role
Confirming his appointment, North Wales Crusaders said it best when talking about Leuluai and his accolades, stating that his playing career ‘needs no introduction’.
On the role that he will now take up, they spoke to his character: “Kylie is passionate about making a difference, professionalism and supporting the next generation.
“He has worked with both Leeds Rhinos, Warrington Wolves, as well as Salford Red Devils in a similar capacity to what he’ll fulfill at Crusaders. His immediate focus will be to support our first team management side, whilst also focusing on creating world-class Women’s and Pathway programmes.”
Speaking on the appointment, the 47-year-old said: “I am very excited about the opportunity to join North Wales Crusaders at this important time for the club. The direction the club is moving in, with the the development of women’s team, reserve grade, and academy set-up, shows real ambition and a clear long-term plan.
“With over 30 years of experience in professional sport, I believe I can help support the club both on and off the field. I bring knowledge of the game, leadership, and professional standards to help support the strong foundations already in place.
“To be part of the only professional rugby league club in Wales is very exciting. There is so much potential to grow the game across the country, inspire young players, and build something the community can be proud of.”
