Leeds Rhinos v Hull KR teams confirmed as Arthur makes shock spine call

Leeds Rhinos boss Brad Arthur on the sidelines

Leeds Rhinos host Hull KR at Headingley tonight and both Brad Arthur and Willie Peters have confirmed their teams.

The Australians have whittled down their 21-man squads to matchday 17s with both men making changes.

Willie Peters had already confirmed that starting wingers Tom Davies and Joe Burgess would be missing with the former suffering from a shoulder injury and the latter failing a Head Injury Assessment against Hull FC.

Brad Arthur is boosted by the return of Mikolaj Oledzki who had served a one-match ban so he’s been forced into a call about who to drop in favour of the England international.

Hull KR know they can extend their lead atop Super League whilst a win for Leeds solidifies their play-off position and also validates their position and possibly cementing them as contenders.

Leeds remain without long-term absentees such as Maika Sivo, Brodie Croft, Cameron Smith and Andy Ackers but the return of Oledzki from suspension is a welcome one.

He steps straight into the starting XIII in place of Tom Holroyd who drops to the bench alongside Sam Lisone, James Bentley and Kallum Watkins.

The other major change sees Jack Sinfield named in the halves alongside Jake Connor with Matt Frawley dropping to 18th man in a major call from Brad Arthur.

Leeds Rhinos XIII: Lachlan Miller; Ryan Hall, Harry Newman, Ash Handley, Riley Lumb; Jake Connor, Jack Sinfield; Mikolaj Oledzki, Jarrod O’Connor, Cooper Jenkins; James McDonnell, Morgan Gannon, Keenan Palasia

Interchanges: Sam Lisone, Kallum Watkins, James Bentley, Tom Holroyd

Willie Peters has answered the question of how he will solve his wing injuries and it’s now how many expected. Lee Kershaw came back from his loan at Castleford and the former London man was expected to start but Peters have moved centre Peta Hiku onto the wing.

That has seen second-rower James Batchelor move into the centres with Kelepi Tanginoa moving from bench to second-row.

Jack Brown and Bill Leyland are named onto the bench alongside regular duo Jai Whitbread and Sam Luckley with Leyland set for his first appearance in Super League for the Robins, serving as the interchange utility.

Hull KR XIII: Arthur Mourgue; Peta Hiku, James Batchelor, Oliver Gildart, Jack Broadbent; Mikey Lewis, Tyrone May; Sauaso Sue, Jez Litten, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Dean Hadley, Kelepi Taningoa, Elliot Minchella

Interchanges: Jack Brown, Sam Luckley, Jai Whitbread, Bill Leyland
