Leeds Rhinos boss Brad Arthur has revealed when he will make the decision on his future, after reports from the NRL have linked him to various roles.
Arthur’s Leeds had just come off the back of a strong victory over Warrington Wolves, whereby Maika Sivo crossed for a hat-trick and Jack Bird scored on his home debut for the club.
Brodie Croft scored the match-winner, ending the Wolves’ unbeaten start to the Super League campaign in entertaining fashion.
Following that win, the Leeds boss was questioned about his future at Leeds, as he was for the majority of the first-half of 2025.
In an attempt to put any unnecessary speculation to bed, Arthur was as clear as he possibly could be in regards to when he will decide his next steps, going as far as putting a date on a final decision.
“I reckon I’ve been pretty honest and fair all the way through,” he explained in his post-match press conference.
“I don’t think it’s fair on the club that we keep having these conversations. I’m committed to the club. What will be will be.
“I’ve got until June 30. June 29 – I’ll tell everyone what I’m doing. I’m not trying to drag it out, but it is hard for me being away from Australia.
“I feel like I’ve come here and I’ve honoured everything that I said I was going to do. And I’m trying to make the club a better club and the players are buying in. And what happens back in Australia, I’ve got no control over.
“People can say I’m in for doing this [head coach role], doing that, but I’m committed to this team right now. And I’ve got until June 30 to make a decision about whether I stay or not.”
Arthur has been linked with the PNG Chiefs, which Hull KR boss Willie Peters is set to take up in 2027, and the Manly Sea Eagles job, after the club sacked head coach Anthony Seibold earlier this week.
The former Parramatta man is out of contract at the end of the season, and Leeds fans will be eagerly anticipating his decision after he has turned the side into title challengers yet again.”
