Brad Arthur has commented on the situation of former Leeds Rhinos forward Morgan Gannon amid reports that the NRL man could be set for a Super League return.
Gannon left Leeds Rhinos at the end of the 2025 season to make the switch to the NRL, signing with New Zealand Warriors on a three-year deal, however, Love Rugby League have reported that the Englishman could be looking to return to Super League as early as next year.
The 22-year-old’s management have reportedly spoken with a number of Super League clubs about a return to England and given his obvious talent, it’s clear that many clubs would hold interest.
During his time at Headingley, Gannon made 73 appearances despite missing long periods due to concussion-related issues, including the full 2024 season.
Of those 73 appearances, Gannon made 24 under Brad Arthur and when speaking to BBC Radio West Yorkshire on Wednesday, the Australian was asked about the second-rower’s situation.
Arthur said: “Look, we’re aware of his situation, but I think at the moment it’s too early to make too many comments about it because I know it’s a personal issue with him at the moment.
“It’s better off leaving that out of the public.”

Whilst Arthur kept his cards close to his chest, largely out of respect for Gannon, a return to Leeds Rhinos would be seen to make sense given that second-rower James McDonnell is one of five first-team players confirmed to be leaving at the end of the year.
McDonnell, along with centre Harry Newman and prop Mikolaj Oledzki, will head to Perth Bears, whilst Brodie Croft and Cameron Smith will make switches to other Super League clubs.
During his time in the NRL, Gannon has made just one regular season appearance though he did play both pre-season games and has made a total of five appearancws in the New South Wales Cup, the latest of those being in mid-May.
