Jordan Abdull lands new club after making loan switch away from Widnes Vikings

Former Hull KR and Hull FC man Jordan Abdull will feature for a new club in the Championship, after securing a loan move away from Widnes Vikings.

Abdull, who took a year-long hiatus from the game in 2025 before returning to the sport ahead of the season, has spent the past few months at the Vikings, featuring nine times.

The half-back is the club’s highest point scorer with 62, however after missing last week’s 1895 Cup win over Dewsbury Rams, there was speculation from head coach Allan Coleman that he could be heading out on loan.

At the weekend, Coleman said that Abdull could “potentially” go out on loan, should he not be selected in the Widnes side, and that is exactly what has happened.

The former Man of Steel nominee will join Sheffield Eagles for the next month, as he looks to find form and fitness ahead of his Vikings return.

The Eagles currently sit eighth in the Championship table, but after losing two key spine players, Matty Marsh and Jordan Lilley, to serious injuries the club have opted to bring in someone with plenty of top flight experience.

Interestingly, Sheffield are set to play Widnes within Abdull’s loan spell. Widnes have confirmed that the 30-year-old will not be available for selection in that game.
