The disciplinary wrap for the Super League Reserve grade and RFL Championship is in with a Hull KR youngster among two players to land a two-game ban.
Whilst Super League disciplinary verdicts are handed out on Mondays with any bans enforced for the coming week, the system works a little bit differently in the Championship and at the reserve grade level as verdicts come later in the week with bans enforced the week after.
That is why Swinton Lions’ Ellis Anderson has been named in the Championship club’s 21-man squad for Sunday’s game against Salford RLFC, despite the ex-St Helens academy man copping a two-game ban.
Anderson, who left the Saints system at the end of the 2024 season to sign with Swinton, was charged with a Grade D offence of ‘foul and abusive language towards a match official’ during the Lions heavy defeat to Doncaster last week.
For that, he has been handed a two-match ban with a total of 12 points placed on his disciplinary record.
Hull KR’s Cobie Wainhouse was also handed a Grade D charge that carried a two-match ban for ‘head contact’ in Rovers’ reserve win over St Helens.
Wainhouse is yet to make a senior Super League appearance for Hull KR, for whom he signed late last year from rivals Hull FC.
Keighley’s Isaac Farrell was also banned, albeit for one match after a shoulder charge against Midlands Hurricanes.
Also charged by the Match Review Panel was Wigan Warriors young forward Kian McDermott though he didn’t land a ban with the forward only handed a Grade B charge.
