Hull KR and Wigan Warriors learn official as Super League Grand Final referee locked in

The referee for this Saturday’s Super League Grand Final between Hull KR and Wigan Warriors has now been locked in.

League leaders Hull KR will take on Wigan Warriors at Old Trafford as the Robins look to complete the treble, whilst Wigan look to make it three Super League crowns in a row.

The best two teams across the course of the competition, it’s the Grand Final that Super League deserved, even if it is a repeat of last years.

Wigan won that one 9-2 with Bevan French scoring the sole try of the game but Hull KR have since lifted the Challenge Cup, League Leaders Shield, and also beaten Wigan away from Craven Park, so perhaps they’ve exorcised plenty of demons.

As for Wigan, they had a mid-season wobble but they now look to be the clear form team and that’s made them favourites to lift a third straight crown.

The man who will be in the middle of all of this has now been confirmed as well.

Liam Moore confirmed as Super League Grand Final referee

It’s Liam Moore who will take charge at Old Trafford with the official taking charge of his fourth Grand Final in five seasons, highlighting his status as one of the most consistent and elite officials in our competition.

The only edition across the last five Super League Grand Finals that Moore didn’t take charge was actually last season when these sides met with the 2024 official, Chris Kendall, serving as reserve referee for this Saturday’s game.

Jack Smith has been confirmed as the video referee for the game, whilst Marcus Griffiths and Richard Thompson will work as touch judges.

Saturday’s Super League Grand Final kicks off at 6:00 pm at Old Trafford with Sky Sports the place to watch for those in the UK.

Wouldn’t be confident of a fair shake no matter who was chosen to ref the game. Kendall shouldn’t even be on reserve after his disgraceful video reffing in the Leeds Saints semi. He needs investigating. The game is going more & more WWE by the week. IMG is the worst thing to happen to the sport in it’s history.
