Hull KR star returns as strong side named against injury-hit York Knights

Hull KR

Challenge Cup holders Hull KR have locked in their squad for today’s quarter-final against injury-hit York Knights, the same side who shocked them in the opening round of Super League.

The Knights, in their first-ever Super League match, defeated Hull KR thanks to a late drop goal, however, Mark Applegarth’s side are struggling for results at the moment and are very thin on bodies.

As for Hull KR, they’re starting to find form and are one of the healthier squads in Super League at the moment, though captain Elliot Minchella misses out today due to a tight hamstring.

As mentioned above, Elliot Minchella drops out and it’s Dean Hadley who starts at loose forward in his place with the returning Rhyse Martin replacing Hadley in the second-row.

Martin returns from his foot injury in an otherwise unchanged 17 with Karl Lawton again retaining his place on the bench as the utility, covering hooker and loose forward.

It means Bill Leyland misses out despite his heroics on loan at St Helens with Noah Booth named as 18th man.
