Hull KR duo among three charged by Super League disciplinary

Hull KR

Hull KR have had two players charged after Round Twelve of Super League with the disciplinary panel handing down their verdict.

Three yellow cards were shown across the six Super League games but just one of those has been further punished by the Match Review Panel, with Castleford Tigers’ Liam Horne hit with a Grade B charge for tripping.

With the score 0-0, Horne prevented Leeds from running the ball back to their 20-metre line for a quick restart with referee Liam Rush having no option but to send him to the bin.

The Match Review Panel have looked at it and deemed it a trip meaning he’s handed a Grade B charge with the Papua New Guinean international now set to pay a fine.

Hull KR were the only other side to see players charged as two Robins were punished by the Match Review Panel in one of the quietest disciplinary verdicts in some time as just three players were charged.

Hull KR stars both charged after Warrington Wolves win

Dean Hadley and Jez Litten were the Hull KR pair charged with the former landing a Grade B charge and the latter just a Grade A after their 31-12 win over Warrington Wolves.

Hadley was potentially in line for a rest having played in every game so far this season but his charge could now see Willie Peters opt to rest him against St Helens, to ensure he doesn’t land a ban for the Challenge Cup Final a week later.

The second-rower was handed three penalty points for a Grade B charge of dangerous contact, taking his season total to 4.5. Once he pays the fine, that will drop to 3 points, meaning that a Grade B charge or higher against St Helens would see him suspended for Wembley.

Jez Litten was handed a Grade A charge for head contact, taking his season tally to two points.

Fellow Hull KR man Jared Waerea-Hargreaves is set to serve the second of his two-match ban this week.
