Hull KR-linked Adam Reynolds issues fresh update on his NRL future

Hull KR

Hull KR-linked half-back Adam Reynolds insists he would be happy to leave Brisbane Broncos at the end of the season to ensure the club can look after its young stars.

Reynolds is approaching the end of his contract with the Broncos and with the 34-year-old having a desire to play on, it seems his future at the club is still very much up in the air. The scrum-half is more than aware of the salary cap pressure Brisbane find themselves under and while he has outlined his desire to stay put, he accepts he might have to move on.

Whether the former South Sydney Rabbitohs man would stay in the NRL remains to be seen and there has been some speculation around a move to Hull KR. Rovers are assessing their half-back options with Tyrone May expected to move on at the end of the season and reports down under claimed last month that KR are keen on a move for Reynolds.

According to All Out Rugby League, Reynolds is a player who has been discussed at Craven Park in recent months, too. It’s unknown whether a deal to take Reynolds to east Hull is a viable option for the Robins, though, given the possibility that the veteran signs on for another year at the Broncos.

Reynolds insists he is keen to stick around at Suncorp Stadium, but it seems as though he is no rush to decide his next step.

Adam Reynolds talks about his Brisbane Broncos future amid Hull KR links

“I’m not ready to retire,” Reynolds told the Chiming In podcast, per the Daily Telegraph.

“Mentally I’m in a great spot, probably the best I’ve ever been.

“I’m extremely comfortable, I want them (the other players) done first.

“They are the future of the club and deserve to be looked after first. I’m at the back end of my career.

“The club is in a great space moving forward and I want to be part of it.

“But I also understand the pressure around the salary cap.

“I’d love to extend and stay (but) if it means me missing out to keep the younger players, I’m happy to put my hand up.”
