Hull KR v Leeds Rhinos team news as stars return for Willie Peters

Hull KR host Leeds Rhinos in the standout game of Super League Round 17 and the team news for both sides is now in.

The Robins and Rhinos face off at Craven Park on Sunday afternoon with Hull KR confirming that it marks their 25th home sell-out in a row, a measure of the transformation that has happened under Willie Peters.

Another measure of that would be that Rovers have only been beaten by Wigan Warriors in the past year, boasting wins over every other side in Super League including Leeds Rhinos.

The clash at Headingley earlier this season threatened that record with the Rhinos leading 14-6 approaching the 70th minute but tries from Jack Broadbent, James Batchelor and Mikey Lewis ensured another win for Willie Peters’ side.

Leeds defeated Leigh Leopards last week to firmly establish themselves as the third-best team in Super League but they’ll want to make a statement against the league leaders.

Willie Peters had confirmed that James Batchelor would not feature whilst Eribe Doro has headed out on loan to Bradford Bulls. The Australian also confirmed that both Jared Waerea-Hargreaves and Micky McIlorum would be named to the squad.

Those changes have been confirmed with the veteran pair named as Doro and former Leeds Rhinos man Leon Ruan drop out of the 21-man squad.

Rhyse Martin is named to face his former team after escaping a ban following his Grade E charge at Monday’s disciplinary. Last week’s game against Wakefield marked his first game since Round Three when he suffered his quadriceps injury.

Hull KR 21-man squad: Tom Davies, Peta Hiku, Joe Burgess, Mikey Lewis, Tyrone May, Sauaso Sue, Jez Litten, Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Dean Hadley, Elliot Minchella, Micky McIlorum, Sam Luckley, Jai Whitbread, Rhyse Martin, Jack Broadbent, Kelepi Tanginoa, Jack Brown, Bill Leyand, Harvey Horne, Arthur Mourgue, Noah Booth

Leeds Rhinos team news

Brad Arthur has named an unchanged 21-man squad as Leeds continue to show an impressive injury record. James Bentley is one of those who missed out on the matchday squad last week due to illness but he’s well enough to be named and will play on Sunday.

James McDonnell is set to make his 100th career appearance having been named to the England 32-man squad earlier this week.

Andy Ackers is named again despite not featuring since his return from injury with Jarrod O’Connor preferred at hooker.

Leeds Rhinos 21-man squad: Lachie Miller, Harry Newman, Ash Handley, Ryan Hall, Brodie Croft, Mikolaj Oledzki, Andy Ackers, Keenan Palasia, James Bentley, James McDonnell, Cameron Smith, Jarrod O’Connor, Sam Lisone, Cooper Jenkins, Jake Connor, Tom Holroyd, Jack Sinfield, Alfie Edgell, Riley Lumb, Kallum Watkins, Presley Cassell
