Hull KR launch limited edition World Club Challenge shirt as Brisbane Broncos confirm 20-man travelling squad

Hull KR will be wearing a brand new limited edition shirt when they take on Brisbane Broncos in a fortnight’s time, with the NRL champs also confirming their squad for that clash.

The Super League champions will take on the NRL champions in two weeks time on Thursday, 19th February, with the game to be played at the home of the Robins’ rivals, the MKM Stadium.

That ground sold out within 10 days of tickets being on sale with excitement for the return of the World Club Challenge very evident and that excitement will likely only rise after Brisbane named their squad.

Michael Maguire has confirmed a 20-man squad that will fly over to the UK with the Broncos expected to have a training match with their London counterpart of the same name, before taking on Hull KR.

To the surprise of no-one, the Broncos have named a very strong side with just one key player missing and most importantly, stars such as Reece Walsh and Patrick Carrigan featuring.

Perhaps more interesting for fans of Hull KR is the fact that they have launched a limited edition shirt for the game with just 1,984 available as the shirt recognises their incredible 1983/84 season. Red with a blue band across the chest, the shirt features white trim on the collars and sleeves as well as the World Club Challenge badge.

The main player missing for the Broncos is Brendan Piakura with the second-row forward’s absence confirmed back in January after he suffered a meniscus injury.

That still leaves a plethora of talent available with Clive Churchill medalist Reece Walsh the headliner, as well as Ezra Mam and Ben Hunt who will help complete the spine.

In Payne Haas, the Broncos have the best prop in rugby league with Patrick Carrigan another elite forward, as seen in the Ashes.
