Hull KR have confirmed their line-up for Thursday’s World Club Challenge, and have been handed two huge injury boosts.
Both Dean Hadley and Tom Amone have been named in the preliminary side to face Brisbane Broncos, as the club looks to complete their hunt to pick up every possible piece of silverware from the last 12 months.
Hadley was set to feature in last week’s shock defeat to York Knights, but pulled up with a rib injury in the warm-up.
Amone, meanwhile, has yet to feature in any game for the Robins, after breaking his hand in pre-season training. If he is selected, he will be making his Rovers debut on a stage that arguably doesn’t get any bigger.
Mikey Lewis is free to play after picking up a Grade C charge for his needless trip on Liam Harris. The England international needed a Grade D charge or higher to cop any match ban.
Peta Hiku, Elliot Minchella and Jai Whitbread were also cited by the Match Review Panel, but like Lewis, they didn’t receive enough points to take them over a threshold for a suspension.
Head coach Willie Peters will be looking for a complete shift in performance from last week’s efforts in North Yorkshire, and will have to execute some of their best displays to have a chance at beating the Australian premiers.
Hull KR squad for World Club Challenge: Arthur Mourgue, Tom Davies, Peta Hiku, Oliver Gildart, Joe Burgess; Mikey Lewis, Tyrone May; Sauaso Sue, Jez Litten, Tom Amone; Dean Hadley, James Batchelor, Elliot Minchella
Bench: Sam Luckley, Jai Whitbread, Rhyse Martin, Karl Lawton
Reserves: Jack Broadbent, Bill Leyland, Tom Whitehead
Hull KR name squad to face Brisbane Broncos
Brisbane come into the game having had opposed sessions against both London Broncos and Hull FC, though they haven’t played a full competitive match-up since their Grand Final triumph back in October.
KR, meanwhile, have had three matches in 2026, be that in competitive action or not, but only one of those – York last week – featured the full first-team squad.
The Broncos are yet to confirm what their matchday 17 will look like, but their touring squad of the UK looks like this:
Grant Anderson, Patrick Carrigan, Jack Gosiewski, Payne Haas, Ben Hunt, Jaiyden Hunt, Corey Jensen, Josiah Karapani, Ezra Mam, Deine Mariner, Blake Mozer, Cory Paix, Adam Reynolds, Jordan Riki, Gehamat Shibasaki, Kotoni Staggs, Ben Talty, Aublix Tawha, Reece Walsh, Xavier Willison
