Off-contract Hull KR forward leaves on season-long loan to put himself in shop window

Hull KR

Hull KR have confirmed that one of their forwards has left the club on a season-long loan with immediate effect.

Fresh off the back of their Challenge Cup success, Hull KR have confirmed that second-row forward Ajahni Wallace will leave Craven Park and link up with Championship high-flyers Toulouse Olympique.

The Olympians currently sit in first place in the Championship, just ahead of pre-season favourites Bradford Bulls on points difference.

Sylvain Houles’ side have lost just twice in the league in 2025 with those defeats coming at the hands of Doncaster and Widnes with the Vikings defeating them in France in Round One in one of the shocks of the season.

Since the loss to Doncaster, Toulouse have won six on the bounce and by adding Hull KR forward Wallace, they’ve showcasing their ambition to not only win the Championship but to make a bid to earn promotion to Super League.

That will be decided off the field via IMG but a team’s performance does affect IMG points and with Toulouse knocking on the door in 2024, they know they’re close to returning to Super League.

Signing the 22-year-old forward is a piece of business that shows their intent and also provides a great opportunity for the off-contract forward to put himself in the shop window for a potential new club next year.

Since signing from Bradford Bulls ahead of the 2024 season, Wallace has only played in pre-season games for the Robins so looks set to leave at the end of his deal.

This loan move will provide a perfect opportunity to showcase his talents.

Confirming the season-long loan, Hull KR announced: “Hull KR can confirm that second-rower Ajahni Wallace has joined Betfred Championship side Toulouse Olympique on a season-long loan until the end of the 2025 season.

“Wallace, who joined the Robins ahead of the 2024 campaign, will link up with the French side in a competitive Championship environment. A powerful runner, Wallace will now look to continue his development across the Channel.

“Wallace is expected to join up with Sylvain Houles’ squad immediately ahead of their upcoming Championship fixture.”
