Hull KR forward facing huge ban with St Helens and Leeds Rhinos men also fearing Super League disciplinary

Round 13 of Super League saw plenty of big incidents and that will leave several players nervously awaiting Monday’s disciplinary panel, including Hull KR prop Sauaso Sue after his red card.

Sue was one of two players sent off in Hull KR’s loss to Wakefield Trinity whilst another two were sin binned but it will be the prop forward most fearful of a ban.

The Hull KR man made contact around the head with a swinging arm whilst also clenching his fist with referee Aaron Moore immediately calling a penalty, before swiftly being advised to send Sue off.

That decision came just minutes after the video referee advised a red card for Wakefield’s Matty Storton after he made contact to the head of James Batchelor.

Earlier in the game, Mason Lino led with the elbow on Joe Burgess who then retaliated with a kick, resulting in both men being sent to the sin bin.

They are just four of the players across Super League who will be nervously awaiting the disciplinary verdict of the Match Review Panel.

Super League disciplinary sweats

Thursday night’s game between Leeds Rhinos and St Helens also saw David Klemmer sent to the sin bin but it was unclear if Jack Smith sent him for ten for either dissent or his late shot on Chris Hankinson.

Curtis Sironen was another Saints player to land a late shot whilst Maika Sivo brought down George Delaney late on with what could be interpreted as a hip drop-style tackle.

Other dangerous tackles that were punished included Luke Thomas’ where he tipped the tackler past the horizontal, resulting in a sin bin. Ben Currie also caught Aidan Sezer late in that game whilst Amir Bourouh was another to be sent to the sin bin for dissent.

Andy Ackers and David Nofoaluma also saw yellow for high shots and tackles off the ball, respectively, whilst Friday night’s other game saw Jack Hughes avoid ten minutes in the bin despite a shot on Krystian Mapapalangi.

His teammate Joe Ofahnegaue caught Joe Stimson late whilst Patrick Mago was sent to the bin in Sunday’s game for a trip on Lewis Dodd.
