Hull KR have fired a subtle shot towards city rivals Hull FC, following their Challenge Cup victory on Saturday.
The Robins left it late with Tom Davies scoring in the 77th minute before Mikey Lewis’ conversion gave them an 8-6 victory over Warrington Wolves at Wembley Stadium.
There have been celebrations galore since the final whistle, with the Rovers media team making a dig towards their local rivals, Hull FC, on social media.
Hull KR trio Dean Hadley, Jack Brown and Jez Litten can be seen holding the Challenge Cup trophy, alongside the words “No caption needed”, which has been taken as a firing shot by Black and White fans online.
Hull KR trio send subtle dig to cross-city rivals Hull FC
All three made the move from Hull FC to Hull KR and now have a piece of silverware to their name.
Both Hadley and Litten were at Hull FC during their 2016 and 2017 Cup wins, but neither featured in either of the matchday line-ups.
The pair lined up for Rovers against Leigh Leopards in the 2023 final but lost out on the trophy in Golden Point extra time.
Arguably, both players have improved since their Hull FC days and are in great form in 2025.
Brown moved across to Hull KR in May 2024 in a swap deal that saw Yusuf Aydin go the other way.
Now Rovers have won silverware more recently than their city neighbours, the rivalry may intensify.
In Saturday’s final, Hadley started the match against Warrington, with Litten and Brown featuring on the bench.
However, for fans on both sides, the city needs both teams to be competing at the highest level and be as successful as they can be.
It’s a rivalry that splits families and friends on game day, but there’s no denying that Rovers are performing to their fullest potential right now.
Can Hull FC close that gap? They’ve shown glimpses this season with some solid performances; now it’s all about consistency.
