Hull KR have announced that veteran prop Sauaso Sue will remain at the club for another season, after penning a new contract.
Sue was one of five Robins players to have undecided futures for 2027, but that quintet has been reduced to a quartet after the 34-year-old agreed to stay at Craven Park for one more year.
The 34-year-old joined the Robins ahead of the 2023 season, making the switch from Newcastle Knights. Since then, he has made just short of 100 appearances for the club and has become one of the most reliable players in the KR side.
The former Samoan international started his NRL career at Wests Tigers, before two seasons at Canterbury Bulldogs came in 2019 and 2020. Ahead of 2021, he switched to the Knights, before he ended his NRL career with 172 appearances under his belt.
Sue played 30 games in last year’s treble-winning season, and was a hugely underrated part of the success that Willie Peters’ men endured.
Commenting on his new deal, the prop said: “I’m happy to extend my stay with Hull KR. This club feels like home.
“I’m extremely grateful for the trust that’s been shown to me, and I’m excited to keep giving everything for the team, staff and our supporters”
Sue’s new deal means that KR now have Lee Kershaw, Leon Ruan, Tevita Pangai Jr and Zach Fishwick’s futures to resolve before the start of next year.
