Hull KR have sent two of their players on a short-term loan to St Helens ahead of their Good Friday derby against Wigan Warriors.
The Robins will play in the first of three big derbies on Good Friday with their home game against Hull FC kicking the afternoon’s action off at 12:30 pm.
St Helens then host Wigan Warriors in the 3:00 pm slot before Bradford Bulls take on Leeds Rhinos in Super League for the first time in over a decade, with kick-off for that one at 8:00 pm.
Both St Helens and Wigan head into that game on the back of defeats with St Helens having lost to Hull KR last week, but the Robins are now helping Paul Rowley’s side out by sending them Bill Leyland and Jordan Dezaria on short-term loan deals.
News of the double loan move was confirmed by Hull KR, with a statement announcing: “Hull KR can confirm that Bill Leyland and Jordan Dezaria have joined St. Helens on a short-term loan ahead of their Betfred Super League clash against Wigan Warriors this Friday.
“Hooker Leyland and prop forward Dezaria will link up with Saints this week for valuable game time as both players are set to face the Warriors on Friday evening.”
Leyland could well serve as the interchange to Daryl Clark whilst Jordan Dezaria will offer some much-needed help in the pack, with Saints missing the likes of Matty Lees (knee), Alex Walmsley (foot), Jacob Host (leg) and Curtis Sironen (calf).
Dezaria is yet to debut for the Robins in Super League due to a hamstring injury but he’s recently played for the reserves in a bid to regain fitness. As for Leyland, he has played twice so far this season but wasn’t named in the 17-man squad to face Saints last week.
