Super League leaders Hull KR have confirmed a major injury blow with the worst case scenario being realised for one player.
The Robins have announced that winger Lee Kershaw will be out for around nine months after confirmation that he has suffered an ACL injury.
Kershaw hasn’t featured in Super League for Hull KR, playing just once for them when appearing in the Challenge Cup against Oldham earlier this year.
He had signed ahead of the season on a two-year deal so he will still be contracted for 2026 as he hopefully returns from this injury.
News of the injury was confirmed by Peters last week as he explained that it was a simple training ground injury, but that there were two different recovery timelines.

Speaking to the press ahead of the game against Castleford Tigers, Peters explained: “He’s seeing a specialist on Thursday so we’ll know whether it’s that nine month injury.
“In this case it looks like that but we’re hoping it’s three or four months. I’ll be able to give you a definite answer after Thursday.”
That worse case scenario of nine months has now been confirmed with the club revealing so, as well as Willie Peters when speaking to the media this week.
A statement posted on X saw the Robins announce Kershaw’s injury blow.
It read: “Hull KR confirm Lee Kershaw has sustained an ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) injury which will see him miss the remainder of the 2025 season. We are fully behind you, Lee!”
