The Challenge Cup victory parade for Hull KR has been confirmed after their dramatic 8-6 win over Warrington Wolves.
Hull KR left it late as Tom Davies’ 78th minute try drew them level with Warrington, before Mikey Lewis’ conversion sealed the win to end the 40-year wait for silverware.
Not since 1985 have the Robins had a chance for a parade but the East side of Hull will be out in force on Sunday evening with confirmation that the parade will start at 5:00 pm.
Setting off from Craven Park, Willie Peters’ side will arrive at Hull City Hall in Victoria Square at 6:00 pm with the plan being for the players to appear on the balcony with the Challenge Cup trophy 15 minutes later.
It will be a monumental celebration given just how long it has been between drinks with the tag of ‘Since 1985’ no longer existing following their astonishing comeback win at Wembley.
Hull KR parade information after Challenge Cup win
Hull City Council have confirmed a number of road closures and provided advice for attending fans, namely around the use of car parks for those who want to attend the celebration in Victoria Square.
The players will be transported by coach from Craven Park to Victoria Square via the following; Preston Road, Marfleet Lane, Holderness Road, Freetown Way, Ferensway and Carr Lane.
As such, Carr Lane will be closed from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm whilst Paragon Street is set to be closed from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm.
The celebration at Victoria Square will be hosted by Hull KR announcer Neil Rudd, who announced the team news at Wembley, with music and entertainment also schedule from 5:00 pm until the arrival of the players.
Those driving into the city centre are advised to use car parks as opposed to on-street parking.
The full route of the bus parade can be seen in the attached tweet.
