Hull KR star Arthur Mourgue is set for another extended spell on the sidelines, his boss Willie Peters has confirmed.
Mourgue suffered a pectoral injury in the World Club Challenge win over Brisbane Broncos, and after leaving the field part-way through that game, was out injured for three months as a result.
Making his return to the side at the weekend against Leigh Leopards, unfortunately he could not see out that game, as he suffered a recurrence of that pec injury.
With the Challenge Cup Final just a fortnight away, questions were raised about whether he could be back fit in time for that game, but Peters has today confirmed that, best case scenario, Mourgue will miss six weeks.
Should things be worse than first thought, the French international could miss up to 12 weeks, in what would be a major blow for both player and club.

Hull KR boss reveals Arthur Mourgue injury
“There is a partial tendon tear there, but it’s not fully, which is positive,” Peters revealed to the press today.
“We just need to see how that responds in the next week and then get a better indication [on] the length of time… We can get a better indication and give more sort of feedback on that in probably a week’s time.”
The Robins are currently unsure whether Mourgue requires surgery.
Hull KR star to miss Wigan Warriors tie
Joe Burgess will miss out on playing against his former club, with the winger being left out of KR’s 21-man squad earlier today.
“He’s got a minor shoulder [problem], and it is minor,” Peters confirmed.
“To do what he did at the end there, with Lachlan Lam chasing him down and making that try-saving tackle, he just aggravated it beforehand.
“So again, it’s individuals. We need to be smart. Joe will be fine for the week after, we just think it’s best he doesn’t play this week.”
