Hull KR have signed two of the club’s rising stars to first-team deals with an academy duo penning long-term contracts.
Alex Gorman and Theo Middlemass, both 17, have inked their first professional contracts at the club with the two teens both signing three-year deals.
Those deals will keep the pair at Craven Park until the end of the 2029 season as they become the latest youngsters to progress through the system.
Last year saw forward Frankie Dearlove, who has represented Yorkshire in academy Origin, sign a two-year deal at Hull KR after progressing through the system.
Hull KR are intent on developing more of their own players with Mikey Lewis being the last notable player to come through the system and become a first-team regular, and the Robins will be hoping that one of Gorman or Middlemass can break through in similar fashion.

Like Dearlove, both Gorman and Middlemass have been featuring for the Robins’ reserves in 2026 but they can hope to earn senior call-ups in the coming years now they have first-team deals.
Speaking during his presser on Tuesday afternoon, Willie Peters said: “I’ve no doubt that they’ll both be long-term KR players, first-team players.
“They’re only young, so need time to develop and work their way into the first team, but they’re two very good ones.”
Head of Rugby Pete Riding spoke on the pair, lauding them as ‘two great examples of the hard work and progress being made within our Academy programme’.
Riding also confirmed that the duo have spent the last two months training with the first-team as well.
Gorman, a half, is the younger brother of fellow Hull KR youngster Louix, a back who spent time on loan at Featherstone, London and Salford in 2025.
On the academy duo, Riding said: “Alex is a talented young half with a strong running game and a good fundamental skill set, while Theo is a middle who plays with real intent and physicality.
“Both have worked extremely hard to earn this opportunity, but they know this is just the start and there’s a long way to go and plenty of hard work still ahead of them. Everyone at the club is looking forward to seeing their continued development in the full-time environment.”
