Hull KR 2026 signing among quartet to make Championship loan switches

Hull KR have confirmed that four of their first-team squad have made loan switches to head to the Championship, with one of those players heading out on loan for the rest of the season.

The Robins have utilised the loan market to get game time for players plenty in 2026 with the most notable being Bill Leyland’s time at St Helens, though Jordan Dezaria has also played elsewhere.

Hull KR have now confirmed that four of their younger players will leave on loan deals to the Championship as that competition also approaches the sharp end of the season.

All of Zach Fishwick, Declan Murphy, Louix Gorman and Harvey Horne have linked up with Championship sides with Horne doing so for the remainder of the season.

His loan switch to Doncaster perhaps isn’t a surprise given that he joined the club last week on a short-term loan, though it’s now been confirmed that it will be until the end of the season.

Horne will play under his uncle, Richard, who is head coach at Doncaster. He’s previously made four loan appearances in the Championship this year, scoring three tries in three at Goole, whilst also scoring a hat-trick in his sole Hull KR career appearance to date when the Robins faced Lock Lane in this year’s Challenge Cup.

Hull KR confirm more loan exits

Whilst Horne’s loan exit has been confirmed to be season-long, all of Fishwick, Murphy and Gorman are on one-week loan deals.

Prop forward Fishwick, whose last appearance for the Robins dates all the way back to 2022 when he played seven games in his debut season as a 17-year-old, will join Batley Bulldogs ahead of their game against Newcastle.

Fishwick has previously represented the Bulldogs on two occasions this year with a further four appearances coming on loan at Halifax.

Backs Declan Murphy and Louix Gorman will head to Salford with Murphy set to return to Salford, the club that Hull KR signed him from ahead of the season.

Murphy is yet to play for the Robins but he has made one loan appearance at Goole so far in what has been an injury-impacted year.

As for Gorman, whose brother signed a first-team deal earlier this week, he’s set to make his first senior appearance of the season having spent much of the year representing the reserves.
