Hull FC v St Helens team news as John Cartwright makes changes and Saints welcome back captain

Hull FC

Hull FC host St Helens in Super League tonight and the team news is in with both coaches forced into changes through injury.

The Black and Whites are without star man John Asiata after the brutal hamstring injury that he sustained in the derby against Hull KR, whilst St Helens also suffered a double blow that day as Lewis Murphy dislocated his elbow and Jake Wingfield saw his season end with an ACL rupture.

Both clubs have plenty of other injuries and you have to wonder how a XIII made up of the two clubs’ casualty lists would fare, given how many prominent players are currently sidelined.

Pre-match talk has been consumed by John Cartwright’s explosive press conference in which he addressed the fact he will leave the club at the end of the year, a decision he claimed was not mutual, but now he and Paul Rowley have whittled down their 21-man squads ahead of tonight’s game.
