Hull FC v Leeds Rhinos team news as hosts handed double blow and Brodie Croft call made

Hull FC have been handed a double injury blow ahead of Sunday’s Super League clash with Leeds Rhinos.

The Black and Whites will be without captain Aidan Sezer and forward Yusuf Aydin meaning their injury list grows even larger.

As for Leeds Rhinos, their half-back fears have been quelled somewhat as Brodie Croft has been named but young talent George Brown is out after suffering a knee injury last week in the Challenge Cup.

Both of these sides crashed out of the Challenge Cup last week so they’ll be eager to get back to winning ways, particularly for Hull FC who have not won a game since the opening round of Super League.

John Cartwright has made two changes to the 21-man squad he named for the Challenge Cup clash with Leigh, with two key players dropping out due to injury.

Aidan Sezer drops out with a pectoral injury whilst Yusuf Aydin misses out with an ankle issue in two major blows that the Black and Whites will hope are not long-term injuries.

They are replaced by Will Hutchinson and Ben Johnson with Sezer and Aydin joining Will Pryce (ACL), Harvey Barron (ankle), Herman Ese’ese (Achilles), Joe Batchelor (calf), Jed Cartwright (hamstring), and Ryan Westerman (foot) on the casualty list.

Hull FC 21-man squad: Davy Litten, Zak Hardaker, Lewis Martin, Jake Arthur, Amir Bourouh, Harvie Hill, John Asiata, Cade Cust, James Bell, Sam Lisone, Ligi Sao, Tom Briscoe, Arthur Romano, Connor Bailey, Brad Fash, Logan Moy, Matty Laidlaw, Callum Kemp, Will Hutchinson, Will Kirby, Ben Johnson

Young half George Brown drops out with a knee injury and is replaced by forward Ben Littlewood in the only change to Brad Arthur’s 21-man squad, which could suggest that Brodie Croft is fit to play in the halves this week.

Croft is named, as he was last week, but the lack of a like-for-like replacement for Brown could suggest that Croft is fit to play.

Jack Bird could also play in that role with the former New South Wales representative 18th man last week but possibly in line for a Super League debut on Sunday.

Leeds Rhinos 21-man squad: Lachie Miller, Maika Sivo, Harry Newman, Ash Handley, Ryan Hall, Brodie Croft, Jake Connor, Mikolaj Oledzki, Jarrod O’Connor, Tom Holroyd, Kallum Watkins, James McDonnell, Keenan Palasia, Chris Hankinson, Cooper Jenkins, Ethan O’Neill, Cameron Smith, Jeremiah Mata’utia, Danny Levi, Ben Littlewood, Jack Bird
