Hull FC have once again dipped into the loan market with the Black and Whites confirming the signing of Warrington Wolves prop forward Max Wood.
Wood, who has been out of the matchday squad at Warrington for the majority of the season, will head to the MKM Stadium for the next month in another boost to Andy Last’s side.
Hull FC have been very short on bodies in the pack and that had previously seen them sign prop Jeremiah Mata’utia and second-rower Ethan O’Neill on loan from Leeds Rhinos, with the Black and Whites having made it clear of late that they were keen to keep the Headingley duo.
That wish has now come true with the statement announcing Wood’s loan move also confirming that they have managed to keep both Mata’utia and O’Neill on loan for another month.

Hull FC add Max Wood on month-long loan from Warrington Wolves
News of Wood making the month-long loan switch to Hull FC comes just days after Warrington edged out the Black and Whites on Friday night, overturning a 4-0 half time deficit to win 12-4.
Max Wood had been named in the 21-man squad to face Hull FC, however, he missed out on the matchday squad. It means Wood, a former Wigan Warriors player, has played just four times for Wire in 2026 with the latest of those coming in mid-May against Toulouse.
The 21-year-old will be available for Hull FC’s round 14 Super League clash against Huddersfield Giants on Saturday with Wood set to bolster the forward pack this coming month, alongside fellow loanees Mata’utia and O’Neill.
Herman Ese’ese is still to full fitness but Hull FC were without Jed Cartwright (hamstring), John Asiata (hamstring), James Bell (knee), Sam Lisone (pec), Ligi Sao (shoulder), Brad Fash (knee), Connor Bailey (clavicle) and Yusuf Aydin (suspension) for last week’s game, highlighting the need to bring in fresh bodies in the forward pack.
Hull FC are pleased to announce Max Wood has joined the club from Warrington Wolves on loan for the next month ✍️
Jeremiah Mata’utia and Ethan O’Neill will also remain with the club for another month.
