Hull FC predicted team after James Bell injury with Leeds Rhinos loanees set for key roles

After a round 10 home loss to promoted side Toulouse Olympique, Hull FC go on the road to take on another of the promoted clubs in Bradford Bulls.

It’s a repeat of the round one game that the Black and Whites won but plenty has changed since then, including Hull FC’s head coach with John Cartwright now out of the door and Andy Last in interim charge.

Hull FC have also had plenty of injury issues since then, as have Bradford, but the latest injury blow for the Black and Whites is the loss of James Bell, who himself had been acting as a replacement for the injured John Asiata.

Leeds Rhinos loanee Harry Newman has also been recalled leaving Hull FC short at centre, however, they have been able to add Ethan O’Neill from the Headingley club with the ex-Leigh man a much-needed addition in the second-row.

Ahead of this afternoon’s game, we’ve predicted how Andy Last could line his side up as he looks for a response to the dismal showing in round 10.

How Hull FC could line up against Bradford Bulls

Full-back: Logan Moy

With Will Pryce out for the season there were big shoes to step into but Logan Moy is stringing together a run of impressive performances with the full-back now far more physically developed than in 2024, when he was also thrust into the starting shirt.

Wingers: Harvey Barron and Lewis Martin

Andy Last confirmed that Harvey Barron came through last week’s reserve game unscathed so the winger could make his return and he’d do so alongside last year’s top scorer Lewis Martin, who is yet to fully find his feet in 2026.

Centres: Davy Litten and Tom Briscoe

With Harry Newman out, Tom Briscoe could come in at centre as he would provide excellent cover in case Harvey Barron cannot complete the game on his injury return. Briscoe has been a solid stand-in on the wing and he’s physical enough in the centres alongside the talented Davy Litten.

Halves: Aidan Sezer and Jake Arthur

Hull FC will hope that this pair can adapt their kicking game to the narrow Odsal pitch, which does take some navigating.

Props: Harvie Hill and Ligi Sao

Ligi Sao is back after missing out in round 10 due to a HIA and he should start alongside the club’s standout signing Harvie Hill.

Hooker: Amir Bourouh

Amir Bourouh has been the starter this year and he’ll be supported by Cade Cust off the bench.

Second-row: Zak Hardaker and Ethan O’Neill

One of the reasons why Hull FC can afford to play Briscoe in the centres as cover for Barron is because Zak Hardaker would start in the second-row, as he has done often of late. Hardaker’s versatility makes him a coaches dream and he will likely start in the pack alongside new loanee Ethan O’Neill.

Loose forward: Yusuf Aydin

With James Bell out, the loose forward role could land at the feet of Yusuf Aydin who obviously won’t offer as much in terms of ball-playing but is more than capable here.

Interchanges: Cade Cust, Joe Batchelor, Brad Fash and Jeremiah Matautia

This is a very strong bench with three forwards and the utility value of Cade Cust. Matautia will bring a massive impact at prop whilst Joe Batchelor will rotate in the second-row or potentially even take that role if Zak Hardaker needs to be moved about. Brad Fash is ever-reliable at either prop or loose forward as well.
