Hull FC name four new signings for forward’s testimonial in all-Super League clash

Hull FC

Hull FC will take on Huddersfield Giants this Sunday in Brad Fash’s testimonial with John Cartwright confirming his 23-man squad for the game.

It’s the Black and Whites first game of the pre-season with their second and last coming a fortnight later against Wigan Warriors in Liam Marshall’s testimonial.

This game will honour Brad Fash with the loose forward granted a testimonial by the RFL after ten years of service to his boyhood club, for whom he will run out on Sunday at Brantingham Park.

Fash is one of several senior players named in a squad that is generally comprised of reserve and academy players, however, four of the club’s new signings have been selected.

Forwards Connor Bailey, Harvie Hill and Sam Lisone are all named in the 23-man squad whilst centre Arthur Romano is also selected, meaning Hull FC fans will have to wait before seeing the likes of Joe Batchelor, James Bell, Jake Arthur and Joe Phillips.

Hull FC name youthful squad for Huddersfield clash

Alongside Fash and the four new signings, several first-team players have been named though the majority of them are young talents.

Yusuf Aydin is the most experienced of those other first-teamers with the Kemp twins, Callum and Lloyd, selected, as well as Will Hutchinson, Will Kirby, Matty Laidlaw and Hugo Salabio.

The remainder of the squad comprises of the club’s reserve and academy players with one of the eye-catching names being Caleb Paleaaesina, the son of Feka Paleaaesina who made 49 appearances for Hull FC after spending the majority of his Super League career with Wigan Warriors.

Sunday’s opponents Huddersfield played their first pre-season clash this past weekend, defeating York Knights in Matty English’s testimonial as Adam Clune and Tui Lolohea impressed. As yet, the Giants are yet to name their squad for Sunday’s clash with Hull FC.
