Hull FC star Will Pryce has spoken about the extents he’s gone to in his recovery and offered a key injury update on his hamstring injury.
Pryce, who signed for Hull FC from Newcastle Knights earlier in the year, picked up his hamstring injury in the last play of the win over Catalans in late May.
At the time, head coach John Cartwright confirmed that it was an eight to ten week injury and Pryce has now had his own say, speaking on The Bench Podcast with Jon Wilkin and Jenna Brooks.
Filmed before FC’s home win over Wakefield Trinity last week, 40 days after the initial injury, Pryce provided a positive update for Hull FC fans.
“We’re midway through week six now so we’re hoping for around four more weeks,” he confirmed.
“I’ve got a scan next Monday to find out if it’s healed alright.”
There was no update from John Cartwright about the full-back in his presser last week but Pryce noted that “hamstrings do tend to be this long”.

He also explained just how much he’s been doing in his bid to return to fitness, even renting out a hyperbaric chamber for his home in Bradford.
The 22-year-old said: “I’m renting a hyperbaric chamber but if the scan goes well on Monday then I’m going to look to get one.
“A company came in as John Asiata got injured and we got it at the club in the training ground and it was there for two weeks. I asked if there was any chance I could get one put in my house in Bradford because I’m still living like an hour away from Hull.
“They came and put me one in so I’m renting that initially for three months then I’ll see if I want to keep it.”
Explaining how he utilises it, Pryce noted: “I get in it for two hours a day every day and I’ll fall asleep in there. I’m guessing if the scan goes well then it means it’s working.”
Recently, Zak Hardaker has been starring at full-back so Pryce’s return could see him play in the halves alongside Aidan Sezer with Cade Cust moving to hooker.
Hull FC will be hoping they have Pryce back and fully fit as soon as possible to ensure they can make good on their play-off push.
