Hull FC and Huddersfield Giants have named their line-ups for today’s pre-season clash, and there is a mixture of youth and experience in both sides.
The game will celebrate the testimonial of FC forward Brad Fash, who is honoured for 10 years of service to the Black and Whites’ first team.
The mullet man has been selected to start at loose forward, and will play alongside four new signings that Hull have brought in this off-season.
Arthur Romano will line up at centre, whilst the front row consists of Sam Lisone and Harvie Hill, who joined from Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors respectively.
Connor Bailey also starts, though he will be in the unfamiliar position of stand-off. The former York man is more known for playing in the back row, but has played in the halves 20 times in his senior career.
The rest of the FC side is made up primarily of youngsters, some of whom already have Super League experience. The Kemp brothers, Callum and Lloyd, will start at half-back and full-back respectively, whilst Matty Laidlaw starts alongside Will Kirby in the back row.
On the bench, some recognisable names include Yusuf Aydin, Hugo Salabio and Caleb Paleaaesina, son of former FC and Wigan prop, Iafeta.
For Huddersfield, they have also got a blend of experience, as Luke Robinson’s men look to back up their victory over York Knights last weekend.
George Flanagan Jr starts at full-back, whilst Taane Milne and Liam Sutcliffe combine in the centres. Fenton Rogers and Joe Greenwood start as props, whilst Kieran Rush plays at hooker.
Lewis Jagger, who recently signed a new contract extension with the club, partners Marshall Land in what is a very young halves partnership. Jagger made his debut on the wing for Huddersfield last season, and scored a flying effort in defeat to Leigh Leopards.
Tom Burgess, Matty English and George King provide experience from the bench, alongside a number of youngsters looking to impress on their unofficial debuts for the club.
