Huddersfield Giants head coach Luke Robinson has listed the club’s injury woes and revealed the likely return dates for the half-dozen stars who are missing.
As was the case in 2025, the Giants are having torrid luck with injuries with Robinson even alluding to the fact that three of the four men named to the leadership group have now succumbed to injury.
Only Tui Lolohea remains with the half-back set to lead the Giants out at Castleford on Friday night, as Robinson recalled the club’s current casualty list when speaking in his presser ahead of Friday’s match.
Robinson said: “I was joking a little bit with the leadership group but everybody who has been made captain this year, apart from Tui (Lolohea), has gone down.
“First it was Cluney (Adam Clune), then it was Swifty (Adam Swift), then it was Harry (Rushton), so that’s three of them out at the moment.”
They’ll get Sam Hewitt back in round four after he picked up a one-game ban, however, Robinson has earmarked the clash with Wigan Warriors in late March as the game where a number of key individuals will return.

Huddersfield Giants looking into reasons for injury crisis
On return dates, he said: “We’re looking at about five weeks time, in and around the Wigan fixture, where we will start getting the more experienced players back.
“We should start getting troops back around the Wigan game so we should get Cluney if things go to plan, Swifty and Niall (Evalds). Beyond that, I think about two or three weeks later is when Greeny (Joe Greenwood) and Harry should be available.”
There was less positive news for centre Liam Sutcliffe, as Robinson added: “It’s very unfortunate for Liam (Sutcliffe) but he’s a 12-weeker so I’m not even considering him at this moment in time. It’s about getting himself right and seeing how he progresses.”
