Huddersfield Giants head coach Luke Robinson has confirmed the signing of a French international following Halifax Panthers’ liquidation, as well as addressing reports linking the club with St Helens’ centre Mark Percival.
It was confirmed earlier in the month that Halifax Panthers had entered ‘compulsory liquidation’ and since then, a number of players have left to find new clubs.
The latest was Ronan Dixon who has signed for Batley Bulldogs but there’s now been another confirmed with Huddersfield Giants head coach Luke Robinson announing the arrival of Tanguy Zenon.
Speaking to BBC West Yorkshire radio in his pre-match presser, Robinson confirmed the arrival of the two-time French international.
“Zenon has come in from Halifax, he’s obviously been a new recruit,” Robinson revealed when asked about the possibility of fresh additions in light of the Giants’ injury crisis.
The club then shared a statement to announce the arrival as well: “Huddersfield Giants are delighted to announce the signing of outside back Tenguy Zenon on a deal until the end of the season pending a Visa arrival.”

Why Huddersfield Giants’ new signing won’t play on Friday
That visa was something that Robinson also discussed, revealing it to be the reason why the 23-year-old had not been named in Huddersfield’s squad to face Castleford Tigers on Friday night.
“We’re just waiting on a little bit of visa stuff from him because although he’s got a visa (to play for) Halifax, it’s not as plain and simple as swapping it over.
“Fingers crossed, he can get his visa done and he adds a little bit of strength to our outside backs.
“I’ve covered it loads of times in the past that we probably need a little more depth in our outside backs at the beginning of the season and once we lost Niall (Evalds) and (Adam) Swift, we needed someone to come in and cover those outside back roles so hopefully he’s one who can do that.”

Luke Robinson addresses Mark Percival reports
Zenon has had limited game time in Super League with two of his seven appearances in the competition coming during a three-game loan spell in 2023 with Hull KR.
He also made five appearances for Catalans Dragons but signed for Halifax Panthers ahead of the 2026 season, for whom he played four times before their liquidation.
Robinson also fielded questions on Huddersfield’s reported interest in St Helens’ centre Mark Percival, who himself is also injured at the moment.
The Giants coach said: “It would be lovely if we could get him in.
“I’m not going to lie, I’ve been a massive admirer of him for a very long time and he’s somebody who just knows how to win – a bona-fide winner.
“He’s still got loads of miles left in his legs. Over the last three or four seasons, he still plays 20 games every year so he’s still getting himself on the field.
“That’s pie in the sky stuff at the moment. It would be very nice if that could happen.”
